Technology on the cutting edge

Analytical Instrumentation

In today’s fast paced world, analytical testing methods and the instrumentation needed to support them is constantly evolving. TriMatrix makes a strong commitment to keep pace with technological advances by continually investing in capital equipment. This commitment ensures that we are well-positioned to manage the challenges of the competitive environmental marketplace.

This also allows TriMatrix to stay on the cutting edge of technological advances, specifically with respect to sensitivity and automation. Another benefit of our commitment to capital imporvements is that the laboratory is equipped with a sufficient inventory of analytical instrumentation, avoiding costly testing delays normally attributed to shortages of instrumentation or downtime.

Ensuring Data Integrity

For an environmental laboratory in which trace chemical and elemental analyses are routinely performed, the analytical instrumentation must meet tight specifications. Adhering to these specifications are critical to maintaining optimal method performance and delivering accurate, legally defensible data. Without this, a laboratory is unable to function at the degree of precision and accuracy required in the specific analytical procedure/method. In addition to having the best available technology, scheduled routine preventive maintenance is performed on all laboratory equipment to maintain peak performing conditions. TriMatrix maintains an inventory of critical spare parts to minimize any downtime and allow the laboratory to rapidly perform non-routine maintenance to restore the instrumentation to optimum operating conditions.

TriMatrix Purchases NexION 300X ICP-MS from PerkinElmer, Inc.

TriMatrix recently installed the latest in ICP-MS instrumentation for Metals analysis from PerkinElmer, the NexION 300X. The NexION 300X is a single ICP-MS instrument offering both the simplicity and convenience of a collision cell and the exceptional detection limits of a true reaction cell. The major benefits of the NexION 300X ICP-MS are lower detection limits, reduced interferences, and increased productivity.

The NexION 300X has a collision cell (with Kinetic Energy Discrimination) and a true reaction cell (with a scanning quadrupole), to bring together powerful polyatomic interference removal techniques in the same instrument. Together with the instrument’s Standard setting, this patented Universal Cell Technology (UCT) allows the instrument to be run in three different modes depending on the level of interference removal and detection limits required: Standard Mode, Collision Mode, and Reaction Mode. Signal responses are kept stable hour after hour by a unique Triple Cone Interface and Quadrupole Ion Deflector. The NexION 300X is designed to remove an unprecedented level of un-ionized material (and preventing it from entering the Universal Cell), this innovative ion path keeps the instrument clean and minimizes drift.
